I don't know if he got royalties for other products, but am quite certain that he did not.  I know Russia follows most international intellectual property laws and any differences would not be bordering absurd (yes that is what I think of this claim).  But the issue here is not intellectual property because the lottery is using the image of the writer, not his work, so I can’t see how the descendant (4th generation) can claim legal tenure to this famed and largely reproduced image of the author.  If Dmitri was not suing for money but for a court order to stop lottery from using the image, it would not change anything I said.
