"Of all my films, people wrote to me most about this one... ...I had wanted to make The Idiot long before Rashomon. Since I was little I've liked Russian literature, but I find that I like Dostoevsky the best and had long thought that this book would make a wonderful film. He is still my favourite author, and he is the one — I still think — who writes most honestly about human existence." - AKIRA KUROSAWA

To the OP,
Maybe instead of asking what good philosophy to read is from anonymous people on the internet, it's best to develop your own taste in philosophy. I think everyone will disagree when it comes to who their favourites are.
If you're new, I recommend starting from the beginning like Plato and Aristotle. And no Kant---it will bore you to death.

I agree that it is very straight forward, but for myself personally, I do not think that I have the maturity to be able to read 40 pages of philosophy, think about it, and fully comprehend it. I am only 18, I feel that I am advanced in my reading and degree of comprehension... but I have so far to go.
