What are you talking about???   Shocked  It was called 9-11 in case you don't remember.  Sad  No president could have created a bustling economy during that tragic period.  The economy IS picking up now mainly due to Bush's tax cuts.  Clinton benefited in the 90's due to the dawn of the digital age (Internet, etc.).

Sigh. Precisely why I'm a Bunburyist.  Wink (Importance of Being Earnest, in case none of you recognize my obscure joke).

In The Importance of Being Earnest, Algernon invents a way of escaping his city life with a tiresome aunt, et cetera, by saying he's visiting a (fictional) invalid friend, Bunbury. He calls himself a Bunburyist, and I am merely evading politics for the moment by affixing the title to myself as well. So far, Bunburyists aren't a political party, but I'm working on it.

Bush was vacationing before 9/11 (and after when he isn't campaigning). Condaleeza Rice is an idiot, which is why we needed a second National Security Advisor (Tom Ridge).

9/11 was preventable.

Look at the long line of disgusted Republicans (Richard Clarke, Paul O'Neill, John McCain, ...)

Alyosha, you forget so easily that the Sudanese offered bin Laden's head to Clinton not one, not two, but THREE times during his tenure before 9/11.

You want someone to blame?  Slick Willy (Clinton) is your guy.  At least Bush is DOING something about terrorism and is not appeasing the terrorists by hiding.

If you want to criticize previous administrations, Reagan and Bush I made many unexcusable mistakes, which lead to Afghanistan, etc.

Bush II is something we can actually fix.
