Could the pair of you please keep your petty, childish squabbling off this thread? Thanks.

I apologize Suvorov. I will do my best to abstain from posting as not to insight a tantrum or two.

Once again best of luck.

I am sorry.

As I was saying.....

Who really needs an actor, who needs a voice for lapidary lines like this:

"The web of our life is of a mingled yarn, good and
ill together: our virtues would be proud, if our
faults whipped them not; and our crimes would
despair, if they were not cherished by our virtues."

I hope I don't offend anybody, but I really can't stand the works of William Shakespeare.  I've read quite a few of the plays (R & J, Hamlet, King Lear, The Tempest, A Midsummer's Night Dream, ect.) but found them somewhat mundane and lacking in several respects.  I don't think he's a terrible artist; I just don't see him in the light as most people.  Does anybody else agree?

you may like him or not,
but it's a worldwide known fact: he was a genius.

nowadays,
there's a tendency to overthrow the idols of the past and pave the way for new ones.
it's not alright.

well,
if only the new idols were able to create such masterpieces as shakespear did, then it would be ok.
but they're nowhere near his level.

also,
shakespear remains the most innovative playwriter ever since the days of the classic greek tragedy.
'cause he took this ancient classic greek tragedy and brought it to europe.

so,
i.m.o. - all those kings lears, hamlets and otelloes are classic greek tragedy characters, and that's maybe the reason why modern people get annoyed when reading his plays.

but they must realise -
his plays are better watched at the theatre than just read.
