Hello everyone! For my university,i need to know russian literature in detail. One of the questions last year was "What is the significance of  Raskolnikov's dreams in C&P?I haven't read the book for 4 years and i really cant remember it now.One of the dreams was about the beaten-up horse, which was supposed to show the good aspects of Raskolnikov's personality.I cant remeber any other dream.
Thank you for all of your help!

You should take note that there are 3 dreams in C&P (at least that I could remember). The first and most famous is in the beginning when Raskolnikov sees himself as a child witnessing a horse being beaten. Then, there is Svidrigaylov's nightmares before his suicide. Then in the epilogue, Raskolnikov has another dream, similar to Ippolite's from The Idiot, where the world ravaged with a plague and everyone thinks everyone else is insane.

At least that is based solely on my memory.

Thank you Kafkaesque! Smiley :)I will re-read  C&P as soon as I can.The thing that I hate about my university is that you have to know the most famous works of 20 authors in great detail. And you dont know what you can get on your exams Cry
