I was just browsing through the wonderfull posts on the board ... and it struck me how many posts, are filled with spelling errors!
It seems everybody is slacking with it ... and just writes the way they feel like (with which I have no problem at all, ofcourse)..

I wonder ..
.. should we spell correctly? ... or shouldn't we?

I try to keep my spelling and grammar as correct as possible, but sometimes mistakes slip through.

My dad's an editor and I'm always just a little worried that he'll somehow see some error-ridden post and get mad at me about it.  Wink

I'm glad you're doing well, Foxhead.

If that's the kind of thing you like to do, Foxhead. I can fix them too, you know, if you'll let me know where they are.  Grin

Some people hold the point that we should pay extraordinary attention to our writings whereas others argure that too much care on the correct spellings discourages our concentrations on the content of the article itself.Personally I am in the favor of the opinion that both points of views have the pros and cons.
Firstly, spelling criterion should be implemented completely so that people can communicate to each other with writing. If people write words randomly in their  own favor, than thousands words with the same meaning would come into being everyday,as a result ,no body would read or understand other people's writings due to too much new words. This would lead to a serious social issue and our cultures may find no way to hand down to our next generations.
Secondly, too much carefulness about the correct spellings to the bits should be avoided .If people paid too much attention to their spellings when composing their essays, they would lose ther creative imaginations, and this would result in dull contents of writting and dogmatic constraints. The whole society would lost in standard spellings instead of the practical issues which related much closer to  our lives.
To sum up the above viewpoints ,both have advantages and disadvantages. All I want to suggest is that we should spell correctly but we shouldn't put this rule as our very first principle.

If I spot one, I'll let you know. Smiley

If first and foremost comes the conveying of a message, and second the correct spelling of it ... doesn't that justify bending the spelling, IF, it is in favor of conveying a message more clearly?

Bad spelling, out of sloppiness, is entirely wrong, and that should be avoided.

Writing wrongly must be done consciously! Smiley

come on Fox,Have u read my reply carefully?
No one really wants to write wrongly consciously,They do it unconsciously actually. Roll Eyes
Technically, random wrong writings can expand our vocabulary.History already witness the process, otherwise we  havn't so many American spellings.

The writing wrongly consciously point, is meant to show an amusing aspect of the act of bending a word, in favour of conveying a message more clearly, HY..

Can you give an example of how random wrong writings have expanded the American vocabulary in the past?

People should just goback and edit their posts before entering them. It doesn't take that long.
