It seems to me (hint opinion) that Dostoevsky was approaching the logical or rational perception of reality repeatedly in his works. He was critical of it.

It seems he was saying in short that when we reduce reality
to logic we diminish the true essence of experience.

In order to reduce reality to memory and rational organized, structured, logical cognition we have to cut away parts of it.

The essence is of experience is that only the essence of something can only be related to once it is experienced. Exerience being the critical component in the experience of the truth or the real. We can speak of true or real but they are just dreams and fanciful things, fairy tales if you will, to those whom have never experienced them. Even then the abstraction will not be completely agreed upon by all involved parties therefore even history has to be reduced. In order to reach agreement. For the sake of clarity we can skip the nihilists who deny the existence of truth or real.

An example of the opposite schools and their dualist underpinnings.

Heres an ontological (meaning to have a concept is- to have a perception of it) duality.
Analytical and synthetic.

One is to analyze, understand via contrast and comparison. The other is to transcend the duality of opposing ideas or concepts via fusing the two ideas to synthesize/catholic/sobornost the components of the dichotomy or duality.

Both do so at the expense of uniqueness. Both are driven by reduction.

Or in plain terms-
What if you could not completely trust your senses because the truth they give keeps coming up short and the obvious or common sense solutions the senses give -when applied to now - just don't work.

Possible outcomes
1. Go find somebody who knows more.
2. Keep tweaking and trying till you get a fix.
3. Or find a lucky b@$5ard who happened to get it to work before and from experience knows whats wrong?

Thus the problem of philosophy and logic as the sole basis of truth and real.

Such is the curse of Charles Peirce- it is such that the pioneer or innovator is rarely the scholar. The scholars build theories to explain the discoveries of the intrepid.

Again Think -aesthetic judgments?

Or (my anti-Kant) God can be experienced in the now/real.

You want to do away with the scholars  Huh Huh Huh

Remember that existentialism now is primarily associated with atheism.

Maybe I have read your post wrong.

No I want us to move past it. They have a specific place. But I am interested in defining the current limits first.

Again,

Try to sift through it. It better defines the eastern positions. There are reasons why there are not gnostics (syzygy/duality) and philosophers on ever street corner in Athens. This is a good starting point.

I agree that the intrepid soul rebels shall always experience more. As far as dualism, I  reduce 2 Dark and Light -  in the grand scheme of things, these keep the world balanced and ordered... One should allow cathartic impulse 2 outweigh logic & reason, because truly, only one's heart can give one the answers that they seek. Love is an essential part of this.
