     Thanx for re-mentioning the article.  I am going to do some comparison shopping before I tackle another FD novel.  Of course nothing compares to the original Russian, but I am only a simple English speaking American.  I should really try to expand my linguistic horizons.
     The Pevear-Volokhonsky translations sound appealing.  Besides, anyone who thought that Oprah Winfrey was a country singer can be on my team anytime. Wink
