Hello All!

I've recently started a new quest (one of the oh so many) to finally get the tattoos I've been dreaming of for way too long. As of now, I have William Shakespeare's signature on my inner left foot and Dostoevsky's on my inner right foot. I have this theory that, in layman's term, you are what you read. Both of men have changed my life significantly and I plan on continuing this theme, though I'm still quite undecided on who's signature to get next!

I'm starting this topic in hope that you Dostoevskian's out there will brag about your new tattoo, blab about the meaning behind the ink, tell us what you've been planning, or even ask for any tattoo advice.

Oh, and post pictures!

I really like that idea. Have you made a shortlist of signatures/people? Any ideas where it would go?

I am too scared to have one done myself though. I've heard a lot of different stories on the pain/lack of.
I would not know what to have or where to have it. But I love the idea that you have something that means a lot to you and helped changed your life. It must be very special.  Smiley

Yes I have. I know for sure that I want Pedro Calderon de la Barca's signature (if it exists and I can find it), George Orwell's, Oscar Wilde's, and Groucho Marx's. Yes I know, Groucho is not an "writer" like the others but he has influenced my life significantly. As for placement, it really depends on how the signature looks. But I'm wanting to do a quarter sleeve of some sort of the signatures.

As for pain, you really can't believe what other people say and attribute it to yourself. Everyone is so different with pain. I can't take pain very well, so it's fairly painful for me. For others, it's like nothing. It also depends on where you get the tattoo. Feet generally are pretty painful. But it a funny kind of thing. The second the tattoo is done you forget all the pain and immediately want another one. It's a horrible addiction.

Here's a picture of my tattoos. Please ignore the shoes. They were a last minute "Oh no! I don't have sandals and I'm getting a new tattoo!" buy.

Shakespeare needs a touch up.

They look so cool! Kinda makes me want to have one. Oscar Wilde and George Orwell are a must, especially if you have Shakespeare and Dostoevsky! And if Marx touched your life, then you should definitely have him there. I can't take pain well either  Embarrassed
Ooo, I heard that if you have the soles of your feet tattooed then some places (maybe it is just in the UK - not sure if it is worldwide) will give you free tattoos for life. I beleive because it is the most painful part to have done. Not sure how true that is though....

Which did you get first? (I actually think the sandals are pretty too, lol  Embarrassed)

Most tattoo artists offer to give you touch-ups on all tattoos free of charge but I don't know about lifetime of free tattoos. If that was true, I would be absolutely covered!

I got Shakey's first. I got Fyodor's about 4 weeks ago. He's healed up fairly nicely!
