Does anybody know where to get a copy of Gogols very first work, "Hans Kuchelgarten"?
It got bombed by the critics, and he bought all of the copies, and burnt them all ... but perhaps there is somewhere somehow a copy of it left ............

With "all" I didn't mean "all" of the books he made in his entire life, but at that point, after the first novel. Smiley

The first one of Gogol is pretty rare, I think .. it's a big possibility it doesn't exist at all anymore..

It's supposedly a story of a man that leaves his wife to seek adventure and dreams, but doesn't find it, and goes back home, lives with his family, and dies..
I have no idea in what writing style it was put down ..
The critics bombed it, and nobody really read it ...
Gogol bought all of the copies, and burned them ..
The title was "Hans Kuchelgarten" ..
That's all I know about it .. Does anybody else know anything more about it?  ... anything ...
