Hey.  I was curious if anybody could tell me any info on the following quote (occurs in teh G. Inquisitor and The Brothers Get Acquainted)

"But the little sticky leaves, and the precious tombs, and the blue sky, and the woman you love! ..."

What is its significance?  Who is it attributed to?  I've heard it's recurring in the C&P as well.  And has been attributed to Schiller, Pushkin, etc.

Any knowledge, thoughts, etc., would be helpful.

My copy of TBK attributes the phrase to Schiller.  I'm not sure if Pushkin wrote something similar.

I've always read that as meaning that Ivan still has love for life, and more importantly, love for God's creation.  No matter how much his materialist philosophy has convinced him that God does not exist, something within himself is combatting that idea.  That becomes more evident later in books 11 and 12.  I think Dostoevsky is trying to say that as long as we're here, living, and can love some aspect of God's creation, then there is still hope for our salvation, no matter how far down the athiest-materialist road we have travelled.
