Hello,
I am new to this forum.  I have not read any Russian literature for ~40 years.  The mass murder in Newtown stirred a memory from one of the Russian authors, and I believe it was Dostoyevsky.  Their was a discussion about the worst crime of the day, something like the mass murders of our current era.  It struck me that horrendous murder is not an oddity of our era.  Is my memory correct?
Thank you in advance,
Byron

I am not an expert on Russian Literature and I haven't had read much either but I doubt it is in Russian Listerature traditions to come down to words like - the most or the worst or the biggest, be it a crime, the tallest building or something. So I doubt it. So is my impression of Russian literature so far. May be it were some German? They like the limits and peaks be seen)))

Wishing a happy and better new year to all the forum members allover the world. Let a new year be safe!

Please don't dismiss the question because of my poor choice of wording.  It has been 40 years, some corners of my mind are poorly lit.  The discussion may have been about a recent crime or a crime that was still remembered by many in the community.
